Date night looks a little different at Sensei Lanai, where couples can now choose between s’mores by the lake and a private five-course dinner.

The adults-only Four Seasons resort has introduced two new experiences called Twilight by the Lake and Lanai Table for Two. Four Seasons positions them as two very different date-night options, from a relaxed evening by the water to a private five-course dinner.

Twilight by the Lake is the more laid-back option. Couples settle into Adirondack chairs beside the water, surrounded by fairy lights, lanterns and candles, with blankets on hand as the evening cools down.

S’mores are the main attraction, with three types of crackers, marshmallows and chocolate included. Guests can add white or dark chocolate bark, cookies and fresh fruit, then pair everything with an espresso martini or Baileys hot chocolate. Non-alcoholic alternatives are available too.

Lanai Table for Two takes things in a more romantic direction by turning a couple’s private balcony into their own dining space. Florals and table decorations are arranged beforehand, then the evening starts with Champagne and an amuse-bouche before moving into a personalised five-course menu.

There is room to make the dinner even more elaborate, with custom wine or beverage pairings and caviar available as extras. The experience runs year-round and needs to be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

Sensei Lanai itself is an adults-only wellness resort on the Hawaiian island of Lanai. Guests can dine at Sensei by Nobu, take part in fitness and wellness classes or book treatments inside private spa hales, with plenty of island activities available beyond the resort too.

The two new experiences take very different approaches to a night for two – one built around s’mores by the lake and the other around a private dinner without leaving your room.
