Hilton has opened Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit, bringing its neighbourhood-focused lifestyle hotel brand to South East Asia for the first time.

The new hotel sits in Bangkok’s lively Asoke neighbourhood, close to the Asoke BTS Skytrain and Sukhumvit MRT stations. Terminal 21, Times Square Shopping Centre and many of the city’s restaurants, bars and business districts are also nearby. Hilton describes it as the first Canopy hotel in Thailand and South East Asia.

Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit has 174 rooms spread over eight floors. These range from standard King and Twin Canopy Rooms to courtyard rooms, corner rooms and three suites. Their design draws inspiration from traditional Thai family homes once found along Sukhumvit Soi 12.

Curved shapes and warm neutral materials appear throughout the rooms, while blue Paa Khram fabric canopies sit above the beds. Selected public spaces were created by interior design studio AvroKO.

The bronze exterior takes inspiration from vintage film cameras. Inside, the lobby, courtyard and restaurants reference Asoke’s industrial past and the nearby Sri Krung Sound Film Studio, one of Thailand’s early sound-film studios.

Guests have four places to eat and drink. Cante is a Spanish fire grill serving wood-fired dishes and sharing plates, while SoolHaus offers Korean-inspired cocktails. Luso focuses on Bangkok-roasted coffee and Thai teas, and Glint serves rooftop drinks with views over the city.

The rooftop also has a swimming pool and cabanas. A 24-hour fitness centre gives guests somewhere to exercise, while a dedicated City Curator can organise local experiences. These include morning neighbourhood walks and a boat trip along Klong Saen Saeb.

Hilton has also partnered with Bangkok lifestyle brand LalaLove on limited-edition merchandise and an in-hotel retail display. More Thai makers and artisans are expected to be featured later.

Room-only rates start at THB 5,700, or around $170, before taxes and charges. The first 100 qualifying two-night bookings in a Canopy Courtyard Room or higher can also receive 10,000 Hilton Honors points, THB 500 in dining credit and a limited-edition LalaLove pouch.
