Peak Design has launched a new collection of everyday bags, with several bright colour options that are likely to attract as much attention as the designs themselves.

The City Line includes six lightweight bags made for commutes, short trips and daily use. The range features two backpacks, two crescent-shaped crossbody bags, a tote and a compact sling. Prices start at $69.95, and the collection is available now.

The City Backpack comes in 15-litre and 22-litre sizes, priced at $179.95 and $199.95. The 15-litre City Tote costs $159.95, while the City Crescent is available in a 6-litre version for $89.95 and a larger 12-litre model for $119.95. The smallest bag in the range is the 2-litre City Sling at $69.95.

Each model uses Peak Design’s new MonoShell construction. The lightweight, weather-resistant material uses fewer seams to create a cleaner shape. Inside, the bags include organised storage, quick-access pockets and easy-pull zips. There is also a concealed pocket for a tracking device such as an Apple AirTag.

One of the most useful additions is the BagLev hook, which folds away when it is not needed. Made from anodised aluminium, it allows users to hang a bag from the edge of a table or the back of a chair. This keeps it away from wet café floors, dirty pavements and other surfaces.

The colours bring more personality to the otherwise minimal designs. Alongside black and dark green Cypress, buyers can choose deep red Eclipse, bright blue Lapis, off-white Moon and grey Stone. Not every bag is available in every shade, so the selection depends on the model.

Peak Design says it focused on refining the materials, pockets and overall shapes rather than adding unnecessary features. The bags are also softer and less camera-focused than many of the company’s best-known products. That should make them more suitable for everyday use.

The City Line is not cheap, particularly once you move up to the backpacks. However, its clean styling, useful hanging hook and brighter colour choices help it feel different from the usual black commuter bag.
