Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC has given Bourbon Lounge a full redesign, turning the space beside Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak into a destination of its own.
New images of the renovated lounge show the finished space following its first major renovation since Bourbon Steak DC opened in 2008. What was once more of an extension of the main dining room now has a much clearer identity of its own.
Georgetown’s historic residential salons provided much of the inspiration. Those spaces were traditionally designed for gathering and entertaining, and the same idea comes through here in the custom furniture, layered materials and warm lighting.

That gives Bourbon Lounge more of a residential feel than a typical hotel bar. It has also been designed to work throughout the day, shifting from afternoon drinks into longer evening gatherings without losing the polished character of Bourbon Steak.
The refresh goes beyond the interiors, with the drinks menu getting some attention as well. New cocktails include the Bourbon Steak Rob Roy and Capital City Margarita, giving guests a couple of new options alongside the redesigned setting.

Chef Michael Mina’s Bone Marrow Burger remains one of the menu highlights, served on a sesame-seed challah bun with caramelised onions, Gruyère and cheddar. Smaller plates such as truffle popcorn, Wagyu skewers and lamb kafta pops give guests plenty to choose from without committing to a full steakhouse dinner.
Bourbon Steak has been part of Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC for nearly two decades, so giving the lounge its own character feels like a meaningful evolution for the space, not just a furniture update.

The new images show just how much the space has changed, with Bourbon Lounge now feeling more intimate and relaxed without losing its connection to the restaurant beside it.
