Carhartt WIP has reworked one of its best-known jackets in denim, giving the OG Active Jacket a stone-washed finish that leans into the style’s workwear roots.
Part of the Fall/Winter 2026 collection, the new OG Active Jacket (Winter) is made from heavyweight cotton denim and comes in a faded blue wash. The treatment gives the fabric a softer, worn-in look without changing the jacket’s recognisable shape.
That means the loose, slightly boxy fit is still here, along with the adjustable hood, rib-knit cuffs and large kangaroo pocket. Triple stitching keeps the workwear influence intact, and the small Square Label provides the main bit of branding.

Carhartt WIP has also lined it for colder weather, using striped blanket material through the body and nylon in the sleeves. An internal chest pocket adds some extra storage, making this more substantial than the average denim jacket.
Denim also happens to take the Active Jacket back to where it started. Carhartt introduced the original version in denim in 1975 before later becoming better known for duck canvas, and Carhartt WIP followed with its looser OG interpretation in 1997.

For Fall/Winter 2026, the blue version is joined by a black stone-washed option, giving buyers two darker takes on the same shape. Carhartt WIP’s US collection page currently lists both at $308.
Anyone who likes the Active Jacket but wants a change from the usual canvas versions may find denim a natural fit, especially since it takes the design back to its roots.
