Vollebak has released a coat designed for the end of the world, but getting one may be harder than surviving whatever disaster it was built for. The British clothing brand has made just 10 examples of its new FWAHBL Jacket, short for “For When All Hell Breaks Loose”. Finished in Chemical Proof Yellow, the limited-edition trench coat is priced at $3,995.
Vollebak currently lists the jacket for pre-order, with deliveries expected in September 2026. Production is capped at only 10 pieces, leaving little room for anyone who takes too long to decide.
The coat is made from a fabric normally used in chemical protection suits. Its construction combines a woven polyester core with polychloroprene rubber coating on both sides, giving the material an 82% polychloroprene and 18% polyester composition.
That fabric comes from Fothergill, a British manufacturer founded in 1847. Vollebak says the company has supplied material to the British military since the Boer War, while Fothergill describes itself as a maker of high-performance textiles and rubber-coated fabrics.
Despite those credentials, the FWAHBL Jacket is not certified safety equipment, so it should not be treated as a real chemical protection suit. It is still designed as a durable outer layer for extreme weather, with bound internal seams, a concealed snap fastening and a single back vent.
Raglan sleeves give the coat a more relaxed shape, while two zipped hand pockets provide secure storage. It has a regular fit, is cut and constructed in Portugal and comes in a bright yellow finish that looks as though it belongs in a hazardous-materials locker.
Vollebak has also turned the release into a larger fictional project. Each jacket comes with custom packaging and an instruction comic, while the brand has released a film-style trailer and says a related video game is coming soon.
The custom packaging, comic and trailer turn the coat into a collectible experience, while its price and tiny production place it far beyond everyday rainwear. With only 10 made, most people will have to settle for watching the trailer.
