BYD has revealed UK pricing for the new Ti 7, a seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV with a smart, boxy shape that carries more than a hint of Range Rover and Defender influence. The Ti 7 will start at £47,995 on the road, making it far cheaper than many large premium SUVs with a similar upright look. It is available to order now, with the first cars due in showrooms in November before customer deliveries begin in January 2027.
Its rugged styling is backed up by a fairly serious powertrain. The Ti 7 combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with electric motors at the front and rear, producing a total of 408PS, or roughly 402bhp. BYD claims it can reach 62mph in 4.8 seconds despite being designed as a large family SUV.
The petrol engine mainly generates energy for the 35.6kWh Blade Battery, although it can also contribute to the car’s output. A fully charged battery provides a claimed electric-only range of up to 74 miles, which could cover many daily journeys without calling on the engine.
Only the flagship Excellence AWD version will be sold in the UK, so the standard equipment list is generous. Buyers get leather upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, three-zone climate control, plus heating and ventilation for the front seats and outer seats in the second row.
A 15.6-inch infotainment display is joined by a 10.25-inch driver screen, an 18-speaker sound system and two 50W wireless phone chargers. There is even a compartment between the front seats that can cool or warm drinks and snacks.
The three-row cabin provides seven seats, although boot capacity drops to 126 litres when they are all in use. Folding the third row increases this to 970 litres, while lowering both rear rows opens up 1,830 litres of space.
BYD confirms that the seven-seat layout was developed specifically for the UK and European markets. Customers can reserve the Ti 7 with a £500 deposit, which BYD will match with its own £500 contribution.
