Four Seasons Resort Seychelles has introduced new snorkelling and conservation experiences that let guests explore the marine life around Petite Anse.
The expanded programme is led by resident marine biologists Dr. Katrina Himpson and Mohamed Ali. Four Seasons says guests can explore the resort’s house reef while learning more about the conservation work taking place around it.
For those new to snorkelling, a private Learn to Snorkel session takes place in the calm waters of Petite Anse. The marine team covers the basics before guiding guests out onto the reef.
More confident swimmers can choose a Guided Snorkel or Private Guided Adventure Snorkel. During the session, the biologists explain the local ecosystem and help guests identify marine life along the way.
Possible sightings include reef fish, rays and turtles, along with the coral gardens surrounding the bay. Guests who want a record of the experience can also book Underwater Memories, which includes professional underwater photography and video.
The programme also goes beyond simply observing marine life. Secrets of the Coral is an interactive workshop covering how reefs function, why they matter and the restoration techniques being used around Petite Anse.
Two other activities allow guests to take part in that conservation work themselves. Restore the Reef lets them prepare and attach coral fragments to the resort’s nursery, then follow their progress after leaving Seychelles.
Couples can instead choose Love on the Reef, which uses the same restoration process as a shared experience. They prepare coral fragments together before the pieces are placed in the nursery, leaving behind a living reminder of their stay.
The programme forms part of the resort’s wider Four Seasons For Good sustainability work and builds on its existing coral restoration efforts. It combines snorkelling in clear tropical water with a closer look at the ecosystem beneath the surface.
Guests can arrange the activities through the resort’s concierge or visit the Marine Discovery Centre during their stay.
