Wellness looks a little different for everyone, and Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is leaning into that with a new set of experiences designed around each guest.

The resort has expanded its programme with a mix of movement, recovery and spa treatments inspired by Mexican traditions and the surrounding landscape. According to Four Seasons, the additions range from guided runs and cold-water immersion to private ceremonies and evenings at the spa.

One of the more involved options is Flow & Restore Detox, which starts with pranayama yoga and an organic skin-cleansing ritual. Guests then move into a traditional temazcal ceremony led by a shaman, bringing a stronger cultural element to the experience.

Active guests can opt for The Cold Collective, which begins with a guided 10km run through the reserve. The distance can be adjusted to suit the individual, and the run is followed by stretching, guided breathwork and cold-water immersion back at the spa.

There are more personal options as well, including seasonal beachfront ceremonies led by resident shamans. These can be shaped around a milestone, special occasion or simply a moment when guests want some time to reflect.

Recovery gets its own treatment with the new Ocean Inspired Recovery Massage. Deep pressure, long wave-like strokes and assisted stretching are combined with an anti-inflammatory balm, with the session designed for guests recovering from travel or more strenuous activities.

Couples can take things further with Spa Under the Stars, which gives them private evening access to the spa. A personalised 90-minute couples massage is joined by time in the steam room and relaxation pools, followed by wine and a charcuterie board beneath the night sky.

The new experiences build on a spa that already draws heavily from its surroundings, including treatments using copal resin sourced from trees within the reserve. For guests who want something more personal than a standard spa day, Tamarindo is giving them plenty of ways to shape the experience around how they actually want to unwind.
