Bell & Ross has expanded its BR-05 collection with a new GMT watch designed for travellers who prefer a little colour. The BR-05 GMT Green Steel pairs the brand’s recognisable square case with a sage-green dial and the ability to display two time zones.
A sunray finish gives the dial a shifting appearance as it catches the light. Bell & Ross creates the effect through a three-stage process involving a metallic base, green-tinted lacquer and a final glossy coating.
Green also appears on part of the two-tone 24-hour scale around the edge of the dial. Its green and silver-grey sections help wearers distinguish between daytime and night-time hours in the second time zone.
A dedicated GMT hand completes one rotation every 24 hours and can be adjusted separately from the main hour hand. This allows travellers to keep track of the time at home while using the regular hands for their current location.
Bell & Ross has kept the “circle within a square” design that runs through much of its range. Here, it comes in a satin-polished stainless steel case measuring 41mm wide and 11mm thick, with an integrated bracelet that flows directly into the case.
Power comes from the automatic BR-CAL.325-1 movement, which offers a 54-hour reserve. A sapphire caseback gives wearers a clear view of the calibre and its full-circle oscillating weight.
White Super-LumiNova covers the hands, numerals and hour markers to improve visibility in darker conditions. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while water resistance is rated at 100 metres.
Buyers can choose between a grooved green rubber strap priced at $5,300 and a satin-polished steel bracelet priced at $5,800. Both versions bring a brighter look to the BR-05 GMT without changing the practical travel function at the heart of the watch.
