Apple TV has released the official trailer for Ted Lasso season four, giving fans a clearer look at Ted’s return to Richmond and the show’s new direction.
The new season brings Jason Sudeikis back as Ted, but he is no longer focused on the men’s team that carried much of the first three seasons. This time, Apple says Ted returns to Richmond to take on “his biggest challenge yet” – coaching a second-division women’s soccer team.
That shift gives season four a clear reason to exist beyond simply bringing a popular show back. The setup keeps Ted connected to Richmond, while moving the story into a different side of the sport with a new group of players and another underdog challenge.
The trailer leans into the same optimism that helped make Ted Lasso one of Apple TV’s defining hits. Apple says Ted and the team will learn to “leap before they look,” taking chances they never expected to take.
Several familiar faces will return alongside Sudeikis, including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift. Their presence keeps the season tied to the characters and relationships fans already know as Ted begins working with a different team.
Richmond’s women’s team also introduces a new lineup of players and supporting characters. This gives the series room to develop new stories without retracing the journey of the men’s team.
