Fiat’s tiny Topolino has arrived in the US, but its closest competition may be the golf carts already roaming resorts and country clubs.

Fiat describes the Topolino as a two-seat micromobility vehicle built for short trips around places such as beach towns, resorts and gated communities. The brand even pictures it on a golf course, which gives a pretty good idea of where this little EV is expected to spend its time.

In standard US form, the Topolino is limited to 19mph and offers up to 46 miles of range from its 5.4kWh battery. Plug it into a regular 120-volt household outlet and a full charge takes around five hours, so this is very much a vehicle for short local journeys.

Buyers can choose between two versions. The regular Topolino gets asymmetrical doors and a panoramic glass roof, while the Dolce Vita opens things up with rope doors and a roll-up soft top. Both currently come in Verde Vita Mint.

More freedom is coming later this year through a free Street Legal Conversion Kit. The kit is expected in autumn 2026 and will raise the top speed to 25mph, adding a reversing camera, rear-view mirror and pedestrian alert system.

With the kit fitted, the Topolino can be used on many public roads with speed limits of 35mph or less, depending on local rules. Even then, highways and major roads are still firmly out of the question.

Motor1 adds that early US shipments are only in the low hundreds, with much of the interest coming from golf-cart-style buyers and resort communities instead of mainstream motorists.

That seems like a pretty natural home for Topolino. It may be deliberately slow, but its enclosed design and Italian styling give it far more character than the average golf cart.
