Fashion and classic Porsches have crossed paths before, but Louis Vuitton and Singer have taken the idea much further with two one-off 911s.
The project brings together a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer Classic and a Classic Turbo cabriolet, each given its own Louis Vuitton treatment. Interestingly, Singer says the collaboration started with a request for a dashboard clock before growing into something far bigger.
First up is the Classic coupé, finished in Louis Vuitton’s saffron, cobalt blue and yellow. Its lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork is joined by a custom roof rack designed to carry a trunk, surfboard or pair of skis, giving the car a suitably extravagant take on road-trip luggage.
Inside, natural-coloured leather is paired with yellow stitching and Louis Vuitton’s diamond-patterned malletage motif. Even the door handles use the same edge-dyeing technique found on the fashion house’s bags, showing just how far the detailing goes.
That original dashboard clock also made it into the finished car. Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s Tambour watches, the mechanical timepiece can be removed and used as a desk clock, with the speedometer and other gauges redesigned to match.
Power comes from a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated, air-cooled flat-six paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Rear-wheel drive and carbon-ceramic brakes complete the mechanical setup.
The Classic Turbo cabriolet goes in a very different direction. Designed with Louis Vuitton women’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, it wears Calcaire Lutétien white bodywork with gold detailing and wood trim inspired by classic motorboats.
Underneath sits a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six with a six-speed manual, selectable drive modes and carbon-ceramic brakes. A large whale-tail rear wing finishes off the look.
Both cars also come with bespoke Louis Vuitton luggage and clothing, extending the collaboration well beyond the interiors. Neither Singer nor Louis Vuitton has revealed a price, but these are clearly a long way from ordinary 911s.
