The FIFA World Cup trophy is already one of the most famous prizes in sport, but it will receive an even more luxurious entrance at the 2026 final.

FIFA has named Louis Vuitton the Official Supplier and Branded Licensee of the FIFA World Cup 2026. As part of the partnership, the French maison has created a bespoke trunk to transport and present the trophy.

Handmade at Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières-sur-Seine workshop near Paris, the trunk is covered in the brand’s signature monogram canvas. Two hand-painted gold “V” panels appear on the front, representing both “Victory” and “Vuitton.”

Traditional craftsmanship continues throughout the design. Leather trim, gold-plated brass corner protectors, a lock and clasps reference Louis Vuitton designs dating back to the 1860s. A light beige leather interior is then shaped to frame the trophy when the case is opened.

Louis Vuitton has already created trophy trunks for every World Cup since South Africa 2010, making the 2026 edition its fifth. Speaking to GQ, chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari said the cases serve as more than protection, describing them as part of a historic moment watched by billions of people.

The partnership also arrives at a fitting time, with the 2026 World Cup set to become the biggest edition yet. The tournament expands to 48 teams across the US, Canada, and Mexico, while soccer’s connection with fashion continues to grow through luxury campaigns and increasingly style-focused match arrivals.

That relationship also extends beyond the trophy case. Louis Vuitton is releasing a limited-edition collection featuring FIFA World Cup branding and the same gold “V” motif.

Most fans will still remember the trophy lift above everything else. Before then, soccer’s biggest prize will make its entrance inside a custom Louis Vuitton trunk designed for the occasion.
