Hoka has brought another archival trail shoe into its lifestyle lineup, giving the Speedgoat 2 a vivid Neon Yuzu and Black colourway. The model originally launched in 2018 before returning in spring 2025 as part of Hoka’s growing heritage collection.
Bright yellow-green and black give the shoe a bolder, more streetwear-focused look. Its chunky shape still reflects the rugged character of the original trail runner.
Underneath the brighter styling, performance remains a key part of the design. A Vibram Megagrip outsole uses multidirectional lugs to provide traction across loose ground and uneven surfaces.
The midsole combines lightweight compression-moulded EVA foam with a late-stage Meta-Rocker for a smoother rolling ride. That setup is designed to provide a softer feel underfoot for everyday wear and outdoor use.
Breathable double-layer jacquard engineered mesh covers the shoe, while a protective rubber toe cap adds extra coverage at the front. An extended heel pull tab makes it easier to put on, and throwback branding connects the colourway to the earlier model.
Those original details remain easy to spot despite the brighter finish. The shoe still looks ready for the trail, even when worn more casually.
Its performance features also give it more substance than a simple lifestyle reissue. Buyers still get the grip, cushioning and protective elements associated with the Speedgoat line.
The release follows a wider shift that has seen technical running and trail shoes become popular as everyday sneakers. With its rugged construction and exaggerated proportions, the Speedgoat 2 already fits naturally into that trend.
