Adidas has launched a new hybrid training shoe built for athletes who want speed and stability in one pair. In its official announcement, the brand says the Adizero Dropset Pro Training Shoe combines tech from its running shoes with the stability-focused design of its Dropset training line.

The goal is to cover the gap between running shoes and lifting shoes. Adidas designed the pair for running, lunging, lifting and high-speed workouts, making it a more versatile option for hybrid training and competition.

The shoe follows the Adizero Dropset Elite, which launched earlier in 2026 as a more premium hybrid trainer. This new Pro version keeps the same general focus but comes in at a more accessible $150 price.

Underfoot, the Adizero Dropset Pro uses LightstrikePro supercritical foam, which is the kind of tech usually associated with Adidas’ faster running shoes. That should help with energy return and lightweight cushioning during more explosive movements.

It is also impressively light. The men’s version weighs 8.54 ounces per pair, while the women’s version comes in at 7.16 ounces per pair.

Adidas has also used an engineered mesh upper for support and flexibility, along with an ultra-thin 2.6mm Adizero EVA sockliner to help keep weight down. Climacool technology is included too, which should help with breathability during longer or more intense sessions.

For grip and control, the shoe has a Lighttraxion outsole made with Continental rubber. Integrated Energyrods are also included to help with stable heel-to-toe transitions, which is useful when switching between faster movement and strength work.

The Adidas Adizero Dropset Pro Training Shoe is available now from Adidas’ website, priced at $150. It is not a pure running shoe and it is not a traditional gym shoe either. Instead, Adidas is pitching it as something in between, built for athletes who do not want to pick one side.
