Naviva, a Four Seasons Resort, has introduced an exclusive reserve raicilla created only for the property. Four Seasons said the limited release was made by Larissa Carrillo Solís, founder of the woman-owned raicilla brand Eterno Embrujo.

The reserve honours the traditions of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, along with the legacy of the late maestro raicillero Don Hildegardo “Japo” Joya. Raicilla is an agave spirit with its own history and production traditions, although it is often compared with tequila and mezcal.

Carrillo Solís began working with raicilla through a personal connection to her family and the region. Her friendship with Don Japo also shaped the project, and he later gave her access to Potrerillos, a mezcalera linked to her family’s past. The agave used for Naviva’s reserve came from that site.

Only 57 litres were produced from seven mature agave plants, making the batch unusually small. Four Seasons says it will not be made again once the remaining bottles are gone, so every serving comes from the same one-off production run.

Traditional methods from Cabo Corrientes were used throughout production. The agave was cooked underground for one month before fermenting for another month. Four Seasons describes the finished spirit as having bright agave character, delicate smoke and noticeable depth.

Guests can try the reserve through guided tastings, signature cocktails and smaller culinary experiences at Naviva. A limited number of bottles are also available to buy directly from the Four Seasons resort, giving visitors another way to experience the collaboration beyond the bar.

The release reflects Naviva’s focus on experiences connected to the region. By working with a local producer, the resort has created something that carries a genuine link to Cabo Corrientes and its raicilla tradition. Its limited quantity also makes the experience closely tied to this particular moment at the resort.
