We Are Rewind has launched a Pink Floyd edition of its WE-001 cassette player, and the real collector’s draw is not just the player itself. The limited-edition Pink Floyd box set includes an exclusive cassette version of The Dark Side of the Moon. The album has been specially remastered on high-quality tape for this release, and the cassette is only available as part of the box set.
The player is based on the WE-001, We Are Rewind’s modern take on the portable cassette player. This version gets a design inspired by The Dark Side of the Moon, along with an aluminium body, metal buttons and a numbered authenticity card.
It keeps the retro appeal of cassette playback, but adds features that make it easier to use in 2026. Bluetooth 5.1 means the player can connect to wireless headphones, speakers and soundbars, while a 3.5mm output is still included for wired listening.
The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 12 hours of playback, removing the need for disposable batteries. There are also forward and rewind controls, plus line-in recording for making mixtapes or voice recordings with a compatible microphone.
We Are Rewind says the player has been tuned for cassette playback, with a dedicated headphone amplifier and an upgraded frequency response of 30Hz to 14,500Hz. That should make it more than just a novelty item for people who actually want to listen to tapes.
Much of the interest comes from the exclusive cassette of The Dark Side of the Moon. Its inclusion gives the box set a clear place among Pink Floyd collectibles while still offering a fully usable modern cassette player.
