Marriott is expanding its ICE! Christmas attraction to eight resorts across the US this winter, with several new locations and themes joining the lineup. This year’s programme will include displays based on Harry Potter, Home Alone and Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, according to So Much Christmas.
The experience will debut at Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista, California, and JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort in Arizona. It will also return to Gaylord Hotels around the country and JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort in Texas.
Each attraction uses more than two million pounds of ice to create floor-to-ceiling scenes from a well-known Christmas story. More than 300 artisans from Harbin, China, spend around 40 days carving roughly 60,000 blocks for the displays.
Guests can walk through more than 10 scenes at each resort, with two-storey ice slides and photo opportunities included along the way. The temperature stays at 9°F to protect the sculptures, so visitors are given the attraction’s signature blue parkas before entering.
The 2026 lineup includes A Charlie Brown Christmas at Gaylord Pacific and Elf at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge. Gaylord Opryland in Nashville will feature Home Alone, while The Nightmare Before Christmas is coming to Gaylord Rockies in Colorado.
At Gaylord Texan near Dallas, the sculptures will bring the world of Harry Potter to life. Returning themes include How the Grinch Stole Christmas! in Maryland, The Polar Express in Florida and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in San Antonio.
The resorts will also offer activities beyond the frozen displays as part of their wider So Much Christmas programmes. Depending on the location, visitors may find ice tubing, character dining, scavenger hunts and stage shows, along with Christmas villages and photos with Santa.
Tickets and early-booking packages are already available, though dates and activities vary between resorts. With eight locations taking part, more families will have a chance to see the attraction without travelling quite as far this winter.
