Pokémon is turning 30, and Polaroid is marking the occasion with some of its most colourful instant cameras yet.
The nine-piece collection brings Pikachu, Sylveon and the Poké Ball to cameras, film and accessories, making it Polaroid’s biggest collaboration to date. Preorders open on August 25 before the full collection launches globally on October 5.
The headline model is the Polaroid Now Generation 3 Pokémon Edition, which gives the full-size instant camera a bold Poké Ball-inspired makeover. It costs $139.99 in the US, €139.99 in Europe and £129.99 in the UK.

Underneath the new design, it is still a regular Now Gen 3 with two-lens autofocus, self-timer and double-exposure modes. It shoots full-size i-Type and 600 film, with a rechargeable battery capable of lasting for up to 15 film packs.
There are two smaller options for anyone who prefers the pocket-sized Polaroid Go. One is dressed up as Pikachu and the other takes inspiration from Sylveon, with both priced at $99.99 in the US. The Go Gen 3 keeps its selfie mirror and creative shooting modes, but adds an updated lens and stronger flash for clearer shots.
Pokémon branding also carries over to the film and accessories. The collection includes themed i-Type film and separate Go film packs with custom frames and dark slides, along with a Go photo album, camera strap and other matching extras.

Quantities will be limited when everything launches through Polaroid, with Pokémon Center also stocking the range in the US, UK and Canada.
For anyone already collecting Pokémon merchandise, these cameras offer something a little different from the usual cards and figures. At that point, picking between Pikachu, Sylveon and the full-size Poké Ball design might be the real challenge.
