A six-year-old, single-barrel bourbon for $50 already sounds tempting. Add bottled-in-bond credentials, and Redemption’s latest release starts to look even more interesting.
The new Single Barrel Bonded Bourbon arrives nationwide in September for $49.99 per 750ml bottle. According to Redemption, it will be available through retailers and online via ReserveBar.
That price stands out because bottled-in-bond whiskey has to meet some fairly strict standards. It must come from one distiller during a single distilling season and spend at least four years ageing in a bonded warehouse. Redemption pushes beyond that minimum with a six-year age statement and bottles the whiskey at the required 100 proof, or 50% ABV.

There is also another layer to it, because every bottle comes from an individual barrel rather than a blend of several. That means each barrel can bring slightly different character to the finished whiskey, with Master Blender Alan Kennedy selecting and evaluating those used for the release.
The bourbon was distilled at MGP’s Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, using a rye-heavy mashbill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. It is then bottled by Redemption Barrel Selections in Frankfort, Kentucky, without chill filtration.
As for flavour, Redemption describes vanilla, leather, raspberry and subtle oak on the nose. Toasted oak, crème brûlée, sweet corn and baking spices follow on the palate, before caramel leads into a long finish with more oak and spice.
Single Barrel Bonded also marks the return of Redemption’s Higher Marques collection, and this is not being treated as a one-off release. The company says it will remain an ongoing part of the range after its September launch.
At $49.99, that gives bourbon fans a surprisingly affordable way into a six-year-old whiskey with both single-barrel and bottled-in-bond credentials.
