Christopher Ward has given The Twelve 36 a colourful update with six limited-edition watches inspired by classic pick-and-mix sweets. Each colour is limited to 50 pieces, with names including Sour Apple, Kola Krystals, Fizzy Orange, Cherry Pop, Blue Sherbet and Berry Burst (via Time+Tide).
Each watch features a textured gradient dial designed to look like crystallised sugar. Achieving the finish required Christopher Ward to develop a custom stamping tool over roughly two months.
Beneath the brighter colours, the watches keep the usual Twelve 36 design. Each one has a 36mm Grade 2 titanium case, a 12-sided bezel and a slim profile measuring 8.95mm thick.
A screw-down crown provides 100 metres of water resistance, giving the watch enough durability for regular use. The titanium construction also makes it lighter than a comparable stainless steel model – perfect for all-day wear.
Inside is the automatic Sellita SW300-1b movement, which has been COSC-certified for accuracy. Its date function has been removed completely, avoiding the unused crown position sometimes found on watches without a date display.
The movement offers a 56-hour power reserve, although it is hidden behind a decorated caseback. Instead of the usual clear view, Christopher Ward has added colourful “Pick ‘n’ Mix” lettering that continues the sweet-shop theme.
Every model comes with two ways to wear it. Buyers receive a rubber strap matched to the dial colour, along with an integrated titanium bracelet for a more restrained look.
Prices start at £1,695 or $2,350, which is a long way from the cost of an actual bag of sweets. For all its sweet-inspired styling, the watch remains a serious piece of titanium engineering.
