Jeep has given us a first look at the upcoming Cherokee Trailhawk, and it already looks like the more rugged version of the SUV. The teaser does not reveal much, but it does show a more aggressive front bumper and a red tow hook poking through, as spotted by Motor1.
That is a pretty clear sign of what Jeep is going for here. The Trailhawk name is usually reserved for the more off-road-focused versions of Jeep’s SUVs, and this one is expected to follow the same formula.
If it is anything like the previous Cherokee Trailhawk, it should get proper off-road upgrades such as front and rear tow hooks, a raised ride height, better approach and departure angles, and skid plates underneath.
Jeep has already hinted at something similar with the Cherokee Upland, which appeared earlier at Easter Jeep Safari. That version had an upgraded suspension, a tougher-looking front end, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in 31.5-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T tyres.
What is still unclear is whether Jeep will make any changes under the bonnet. The current Cherokee is only available with a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine paired with a continuously variable transmission.
That setup produces 210 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque, and comes with Jeep’s Active Drive I 4×4 system. The previous Cherokee Trailhawk used Jeep Active Drive Lock 4×4, which is also found on the 2026 Compass Trailhawk, so it will be interesting to see whether Jeep brings that system back here.
For now, Jeep has not shared full specs, pricing, or a release date for the Cherokee Trailhawk. The company says more information will be revealed later.
Still, this teaser is enough to show that Jeep wants the Cherokee to have a tougher side again. For anyone keeping an eye on rugged SUVs and hybrid off-roaders, this could be one to watch.
